We hope you find our site informative and educational.

WE WOULD LIKE TO CONGRATULATE OUR NEWEST EMT CONNIE FIELDS!

PRIDE- That is why we are there at 3:00 AM.  That is why we show up in the morning after working all night.  That is why we get training to better serve you.  That is why we stay home to watch after the family so our spouse can come help you.  That is why our pay is not in the form of a check.  That is why our community is important to us.  That is why we operate the same way we did when we started in 1968, 100% volunteer and free of charge.

Dante Rescue Squad attended the VAVRS District 9 meeting held in Saltville, VA.  Our BLS and ALS teams competed but once again with some different members than what we had previously competed with.  Our ALS team consisted of Jarred Glass, Carla Glass, Nathan Shockley and Kim Fields.  Our BLS team was Carla Glass, Jarred Glass, Kim Fields and Jonathan Fields.  Both teams performed well and Dante Rescue won first place in both ALS and BLS competitions.  This was the final competition for the 2011 year which left our BLS team with first place in three out of four competitions.  Our ALS team finished the year with two out of four first place finishes.  We have had a total of eleven members to compete this year which we think is a testament to the level of care Dante Rescue Squad provides.

Dante Rescue Squad will receive a presentation from The Wellmont CVA Heart Institute’s Level One Heart Attack Network.  We are excited to meet with this group of people and learn about their program.  We hope to establish a partnership with this group in the very near future.  As Dante Rescue is always trying to improve patient care with new skills and abilities, this will be a major step in improving patient care in our area and bring treatments to the area that are not being done anywhere locally.
